Clayton Kershaw to come off the DL

The Dodgers have been cruising all year long, owning baseball’s best record at 91-38 and they have been able to do this without their ace Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw has been on the shelf since July 24th with a lower back strain. The Dodgers will not have to go too much further without him as Kershaw, after making a reassuring rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, will be making his next start on either Friday or Saturday in San Diego back with the Dodgers.

Kershaw went five solid innings of one-run ball is his rehab start, working efficiently throwing 43 strikes out of 64 pitches and threw a first-pitch to 13 of the 16 batters he faced. He struck out eight along the way and did not issue a walk, which showed how in command he was throughout the whole start.

If the Dodgers missed Kershaw, they didn’t show it because they managed to go a major-league best 22-7 without him, not missing a single beat and got a bit stronger through the process. They now have a rotation featuring Clayton Kershaw, Yu Darvish, Alex Wood, Rich Hill, and Hyun-Jin Ryu. In my opinion, this is just unfair.

The return of Kershaw only makes it more certain the Dodgers are going to be World Series bound unless a miracle happens. They have by far the most complete and deepest team in the league all around. It is unheard of to really have little to no weaknesses, but the Dodgers do not have many. It is hard to see anyone in the National League being able to take them out come playoff time with Clayton Kershaw back.
